Since many of these services are bundled in equipment, with Globalstar you can send voice, data, position location, and other information from the convenience of one small handheld phone.The Globalstar system provides robust signal strength owing to the patented CDMA signal reception technology of path diversity, which avoids dropped calls by carrying the same signal in parallel on multiple satellites in view with the user in different directions. In contrast to other satellite communications systems, this innovative method ensures that in case of outdoors obstacles, blocking the path to one satellite, another satellite supports the signal on to the user with no interruption.

GlobalStar offers three types of mobile satellite phones, made by Qualcomm, Telit, and Ericsson. Globalstar mobile phones are only slightly larger than traditional cellular phones and are very simple to use. These phones are multi-mode and have the ability to work with terrestrial GSM, AMPS networks, as well as the Globalstar satellite network, according to the location and requirements of the user.
