Under the investment quota program, construction of 40 fishing vessels and 27 fish processing plants has been completed

During the period of the mechanism’s operation, 8 factories and 6 vessels have been built in the Murmansk Region
To date, the construction of 27 fish processing plants and 40 fishing vessels has been completed within the framework of the investment quota mechanism. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev during a working visit to the Murmansk Region, the press service of the Federal Agency for Fisheries reports.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the fisheries complex is of great importance for the economy of the Murmansk Region. The region’s users catch more than 10% of the all-Russian volumes.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev:
— The region’s fishing enterprises participate in the implementation of the investment quota mechanism, which allows for the renewal of the fishing fleet, an increase in processing, and an increase in production efficiency. In general, the “keel quota” mechanism has given impetus to the revival of Russian fishing shipbuilding. Currently, the construction of 27 factories and 40 vessels has been completed within the framework of the program. Of these, 23 are fishing vessels and 17 are crab vessels. During the period of operation of the mechanism, 8 factories and 6 vessels were built in the Murmansk Region.
Dmitry Patrushev and the head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Ilya Shestakov inspected the newest fishing vessel “Captain Sokolov”, built under the investment quota program. This is the fourth vessel in a series of 10 trawlers of Project 170701, which are being built for the Norebo Group using the investment quota mechanism. On board the vessel there is a modern fish processing factory with a capacity of up to 150 tons of frozen fish and canned goods per day. The refrigeration equipment of the vessel is capable of storing up to 1 thousand tons of fish.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted the innovative design of the bow of the hull. This shape increases the working space on the vessel and improves seaworthiness. Due to the closed shape, water does not flood the deck when a wave passes, the impact of oncoming waves on the bow is reduced, and icing of the hull is reduced.
Head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov:
– The vessel was built within the framework of the first stage of investment quotas. The trawler was designed in Russia and has a high automation class. The equipment installed on board ensures waste-free production and maximum fishing efficiency. “Kapitan Sokolov” will fish for cod, haddock and other fish species in the Northern Fishery Basin. The trawler has successfully passed fishing trials in the Barents Sea. The operation of the entire vessel was tested and adjusted in real operating conditions. This is another example of the successful renewal of the domestic fishing fleet. In total, more than 10 more vessels are planned to be delivered this year, built under the “quotas under the keel” program.
