Russian shipyards have received orders for the construction of over a thousand civilian vessels for the period up to 2035. This was stated in an interview with Russia 24 by State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Yevtukhov.
“We have a long-term plan for the need for civil courts on the part of our domestic customers. This need is fixed in the so-called consolidated plan for the period up to 2035, and in this plan we include all the intentions stated by shipowners, large investor companies, and operators to build a fleet. Until 2035, we have orders for more than a thousand ships with a total investment of more than 5.5 trillion. rubles,” Viktor Yevtukhov said.
He also added that the plan will be adjusted taking into account the current situation, this work is ongoing: “”But I want to emphasize that in general, the technological equipment and in general the readiness of our shipyards to fulfill orders can be assessed as very, very high. Today we can ensure the production of an almost complete range of vessels and watercraft, ranging from fishing vessels, crabbers, and ending with such unique, specialized and high-tech projects as nuclear icebreakers, as well as marine research and large-tonnage vessels.”
According to Viktor Yevtukhov, more than 170 vessels are scheduled to be completed this year alone. In total, at the moment, almost 300 vessels are in various stages of implementation at 65 Russian shipyards, of which 75 units are being built for the fishing industry.
