Engineers of the company ZORA have successfully performed the NDR of the Echotrac E20ER (Teledyne Reson A/S) on the NIS “Academician M. A. Lavrentiev”.

Specialists of ZORA LLC have successfully completed the installation and testing of the Echotrac E20ER (Teledyne RESON A/S) echo sounder at the Academician M. A. Lavrentiev Research Institute in Vladivostok. Unlike a conventional navigation device, the installation of such an echo sounder on a scientific vessel, and even of foreign production, is far from an ordinary event in the modern realities of the sanctions against the Russian Federation. Two years ago, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia decided to allocate a targeted subsidy for the purchase of a modern deep-sea echo sounder for its use for scientific purposes during expeditions. Together with the scientific community, the technical characteristics of the echo sounder and the possible equipment manufacturers corresponding to them were determined. Believe me, it was very difficult to find a guaranteed successful solution, since the pressure of economic sanctions against Russia on the one hand, and the coronavirus pandemic on the other, made their negative contribution to the process. However, in the end, everything was completed successfully. The equipment of the latest modification of the Echotrac E20ER, was specially manufactured by the company “Teledyne RESON A/S” at one of the factories in the Kingdom of Denmark. A year earlier, a similar set of equipment manufactured by Teledyne RESON A/S was installed by Zora LLC, and is currently being used by members of the scientific group to perform production tasks at the Akademik Oparin Research Institute.
